Projects

Projects are normally billed on a contract basis. Complete web sites, eCommerce setup and design, subscription based delivery of content, multi-site configuration, data migration, graphic design projects, logos are some examples of projects. A document quote is emailed to you and a price is agreed upon. Before we accept your project we must have a quick email stating your intent to have us do the work described in the quote and that you guarantee payment of the quoted amount. A 50% deposit is required before any work will begin. Each milestone in the project must be "signed-off." Changes to signed-off areas of the project will be billed an hourly rate to perform your requested revisions to the previously approved milestone.

All web sites are PHP and database driven using tableless design (CSS) and powered by Drupal CMS. Since web sites are database driven, there are no limits on the number of pages, forms or menu's. There are, however, some server side conditions that must be met: MySQL database v4.0.27 or greater, Apache running on Linux/UNIX, PHP 4.4.x or greater, PHP memory limit greater than 16 MB and a minimum of 200 MB of storage space. If you are starting out and do not have a contract with a web hosting company, I would be happy to consult with you on web hosting companies/packages based on your projects requirements.

Maintenance & Updates

Maintenance and updates are charged at an hourly rate. The hourly rate depends on the type of work being done and the date you need it completed by. Web site updates, consulting, digital photography, database troubleshooting, database help, and other CMS maintenance duties are examples of work charged at hourly rate. You will be billed after the work is completed. Your invoice will have a detail of how many hours (divided in 1/4 of an hour) the job took, the rate, and a brief description of the job.

Payment & Currency

• If you prefer to not send payment by money order and reside outside of Canada, I will accept and prefer PayPal to Trish@zQlab.com.

Project Rates

Web site rates vary according to the work you want or need done, but the professionalism and quality are the same at all price ranges. Price only affects the amount of labour contracted for.

Theme Conversion: Existing designs can be converted to comply with Drupal standards, as well as CSS/HTML validated.
• $100.00 per design conversion. Mozilla 2 and IE7 compatible
• $120.00 per design conversion. Mozilla 1.5/2 and IE6/7 compatible
• Starting at $100.00, we can create a template or a set that includes a highly visual main page with complementary interior page designs coordinating custom content templates.

Non-Profit and Online Gaming Teams: I have a soft spot of non-profit's. A minimalist, yet full web site starts at $150.00. Usually an average of $300.00 is spent and time of completion is within 2 weeks.

Midway: A starting point for a customized design and layout, installation and configuration for e commerce or subscription based content delivery or a community portal web site. All of which are feature rich with search, photo gallery and event & calendar, to name a few.
